We are getting a peek into the future of athletic SUVs and the 2021 Dodge Durango is leading the charge. To say there is a lot to look forward to in the coming model year would be an understatement. Besides going through a major facelift and upgrade, the 2021 Dodge Durango will be the most powerful and quick SUV on the road in the coming months. Does that get your attention? Jeff Smith Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is excited to fill you in on what you can expect from the 2021 Dodge Durango.

New Look, New Features

The Dodge Durango will get a bold and aggressive look in the new model year. Essentially it looks to become the SUV version of the powerful and stylish Dodge Charger. Listen to this: Its front fascia and grille are modeled after the iconic Charger, as are the LED headlights, running lights, and hood. Each trim of the Durango will feature a different grille texture. The Durango GT will show off a wide honeycomb grille, while the SXT and first-class Citadel will feature a Granite Crystal grille. You'll even get your choice of six different 20-inch wheel designs.

Inside, you'll notice an upgrade as well. The roomier center console provides more space and storage. The 8.4-inch infotainment touchscreen will remain standard on the lower SXT and GT models, but the higher trims will get a brand-new 10.1-inch touchscreen for added clarity on your navigation. The updated Uconnect 5 infotainment system will add Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa. A wireless charging station will be placed within arms reach.

Anticipated Power Boost

Perhaps the most exhilarating addition to the Durango lineup in 2021 is the all-new Durango SRT Hellcat trim. If it calls to mind the power of the legendary Dodge Challenger, that is no accident. The Durango SRT Hellcat will be a supercharged three-row SUV, capable of hitting zero-to-60 in 3.5 seconds and capable of towing as much as 8,700 pounds.

This particular Durango will be equipped with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that pumps out 710 horsepower and 645 pound-feet of torque. Dodge estimates it can hit top speeds of 180 mph. Even the suspension has undergone some tweaks to handle the increased power, with new Bilstein suspension found on each corner of the Durango.

The new Dodge Durango is the SUV you would build if you were in charge of its design. You can be the first in your Perry neighborhood to drive this exciting three-row SUV.
