The Performance

Although the 5.7L Hemi V8 has been retired, the Hurricane that replaces it is an inline-six, twin-turbocharged engine that provides either 420 horsepower or 540 horsepower, depending on the options you select. The 540-horsepower version zooms to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds. That'll get you in and out of traffic on the highways with a minimum of fuss.

The Ramcharger hybrid achieves 4.4 seconds with its more than 600 horsepower. The Ram 1500 REV matches the Ramcharger. Other trims, such as the Laramie, Rebel, and new Tungsten, also trip to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds. With the Hurricane, the 2025 Ram 1500 pulls nearly 13,000 pounds. Electric or hybrid engines pull 14,000 pounds because they have 600 pounds of torque instead of 510 pounds of torque for high-output hurricanes.

When it comes to hauling cargo, you can select either the five-foot, seven-inch bed or the six-foot, four-inch bed. If, however, you select the extended cab, then your only option is the latter bed. You can pull 2,625 pounds in the bed with the 2025 Ram 1500, even if you're towing the maximum amount allowed by the truck's rating.

The Efficiency

With two-wheel drive, the 2025 Ram 1500 with the Hurricane achieves 23 mpg combined. With all-wheel drive, it reaches 19 mpg combined. The full EV's range is roughly 500 miles, while the hybrid's range is nearly 700 miles. Both of them recharge exceptionally quickly, and you'll be able to add 50 miles of extra range in just 10 minutes.

The Luxury
